I Went to Glacier National Park
I went to Glacier National Park. It was great!
I saw a bear. I'm safe though. JD Boy is safe too. Oh wait! I didn't tell you, JD Boy and my grandpa were waiting on the bridge for me and my aunt and my uncle to come down the trail, because we had gone hiking. All of the sudden, JD Boy said, "Grandpa, there's a bear!" Grandpa looked and sure enough there was a bear. It was coming straight for the bridge. My grandpa said that it was probably going to go under the bridge, but I guess you can't really read a bear's mind, because the bear popped up right in front of my grandpa and JD Boy. JD Boy was probably about 9 or 10 feet from the bear. Grandpa and JD Boy backed up. Grandpa knows what to do about bears; he's seen them before. They visit him at his house. Then my uncle and aunt and I came down the trail. My grandpa yelled, "There's a bear!" The bad thing is that we couldn't hear what said so we just kept walking. I told my uncle that there's a bear. He looked, but he didn't see it. He told me and my aunt to stay right where were. He walked ahead and sure enough there was a brown Black Bear. My uncle came slowly back and he said, "Stay still! Don't show that you're scared." Of course, I was really scared. Then it came right up the trail toward us. It was in the grass, but it was pretty close. Then we started backing up. We backed up a few feet. It didn't really pay much attention to us, but here's a picture that shows how close we were.
We saw Mountain Goats too--I mean lots! There were Mountain Goats that were close and Mountain Goats that were far. I could touched some of them, if I thought I needed too, but I really didn't think I should because they might have hurt me and besides that was the rules of the park. I am a Junior Ranger and swore that I wouldn't hurt wild animals at parks.
We saw baby goats too; and they were sure cute!
We saw Columbian Ground Squirrels. They were cute too.
This is a picture my dad took. We took a ride in the boat that's at the dock. I love the sunset in the background of this picture.
This is my family just having some fun on a windy rock. I'm sure glad we didn't get blown off, into the water. There was water right under there, well it was a long ways down to the water.
My dad takes pictures of everything, including pictures in the rain. Of course, you couldn't skip taking a picture of this. Even my aunt took a picture of it with my camera. Although it wasn't raining, when she took her picture. The name of this lake is Iceberg Lake. You'll have to go there sometime. It's told that there's always ice there--all through summer, all through winter. I do think my daddy is kind of silly because we all had to stand and wait for him while he took pictures, but we just waited under a tree and ate our lunch...in the rain.
I like Glacier National Park, especially when I have a whole family to go with me. Hope you get to go there sometime. It's a pretty place.

Children's Bible Class
My mom taught some kids about the Bible. Our pastor was having a Prophecy Seminar, so my mom decided to do prophecy classes for kids too. I went to all of them. I got my own Bible, a name tag and a certificate. I made a whole book of crafts during the meetings.
Here is a pictures of the things I got.
And here is one of the crafts that I made.
I use my Bible all the time. I look at my crafts almost every day. And my certificate is hung on the wall. And my name tag is used as a bookmark.
I learned a lot and now my daddy is giving me Bible studies, besides what we do as a family, because I want to learn more.

Happy Birthday to Me!
I had a birthday. My parents took me out to eat for my birthday. It was very yummy. We went to PF Changs and we had some yummy ice cream and banana spring rolls for desert. There aren't any pictures of me, but I'm trying to figure out if I can get my pictures taken, then I'll show them to you. I want my mommy to wait to make a cake until my grandma can come visit so I can share it with them. I still had fun on my birthday and now I'm 9 YEARS OLD.

I got to go to Mexico!
I got to go to Mexico. I went snorkeling and I got to slide off of a waterfall. My grandpa, whom I call "Papa", took a whole bunch of pictures of me. Here are some of them.
Also, I went to the zoo. It's a very little zoo, but it was still fun, because I'd never fed animals at the zoo before except parrots. This time, I got to feed giraffes, ponies, a whole bunch of ducks, monkeys, flamingos, a hippopotamus and bears and throw a little bit of food to the lions. We couldn't feed the bobcat, but it did try to charge at me. My uncle was charged by it too, because we were standing together. There was some kind of cat that got tired of standing in its cage and was pacing back and forth. I was wishing that I could let it out, but I knew it would probably bite and yell and scream at me. It would kick at the gate. Also, we saw a whole bunch of baby rabbits. I'll tell you what: baby rabbits are very, very cute.

Colors in Winter
My mom has been reading the blog The Outdoor Challenge. We were trying to find some colors even though it was winter. Sometimes it's hard to find colors, at least very many colors, in the winter. Because leaves have fallen off of the trees. The flowers don't have any color because they've all died. That's the reason, I thought it was a challenge. Don't you think that's a little bit of a challenge?
Here is a picture of a tree that's at our house. I found green and brown in the tree and white in the sky.
I found lots of gray rocks and brown bushes and a lot of colors that I haven't learned very well yet.
I found this bush that had red and green on it. There was a rock in the back that I caught in my picture too. It's gray. There's dirt too. It's brown and black.
This is a picture that I thought was pretty cool. I took it (like all of them). I saw yellowish-green trees behind the neighbor's house. I saw dark green trees with brown trunks. I saw green ferns. And I saw brown leaves all over the ground. I saw light-green in the grass in the neighbor's cow pasture.
I didn't see any snow because all of our snow finished melting yesterday.
Oh, here's a picture I didn't take. My daddy took this one. I thought it was kind of cute. It's got snow in it. It's from Grandma & Grandpa's house. I see orange, blue, white, black and gray in this picture.
How many colors can you find around your house?

Not so Zippy
I'm not feeling very Zippy. I'm kind of sick. I'm not feeling good. My mom wants me to work on school anyway, because we've taken so much time off for the holidays. I'm bored. I should do schoolwork and not be bored.
My mom wants to try some of her natural remedies on me. See her blog and you'll know why I'm scared.
Send me a comment. Maybe it will help me get well.
Oh, Zippy.
